Xinlan Li (Chair)
Xinlan Li was a scientist by training and had worked in the biotech field for years. She is also a community activist and has long served and volunteered in local Chinese schools and nonprofit organizations.

Kun Yang
Kun Yang works as a software engineer at NCSU. She has been volunteering in local Chinese schools and non-profit organizations for year. She is the founder of Thousand Miles Initiative, a volunteer service platform for North Carolina high school students.

Cissy Wang
Cissy Wang is a multidisciplinary professional whose career spans medicine, technology, arts, and civic engagement. She founded the first local dance group, TaGe, to promote Chinese cultural heritage while building community connections through the arts. She also deeply involved in civic and community activities, including political campaigns (ie, Yang Gang 2020), advocated for equal rights, and supported anti-discrimination initiatives for diverse communities.

Ning Mosberger-Tang
Ning Mosberger-Tang is an activist and community organizer based in Boulder, known for her work in environmental and conservation efforts. Her professional background is rooted in computer science, and she has significant experience in the tech industry. Notably, Mosberger-Tang was part of the early engineering team at Google, contributing to the development of the company’s early advertising platforms. Since 2006, she has shifted her focus towards environmental and conservation initiatives. This includes engaging in environmental education, climate change mitigation, community organizing, and policy advocacy. Mosberger-Tang is recognized as the founder and president of several organizations, reflecting her dedication to environmental and nonprofit work.
Haipei Shue
Haipei Shue came to America for a graduate study of sociology in 1987. He has been socially and politically engaged in the Chinese American community since 1990. In the early 90’s he was one of the “student lobbyists” responsible for the passage of “Chinese Student Protection Bill”; he lobbied Congress in the mid ’90s for granting China Most Favored Nation (MFN) trade status; from 2009 to 2013, he led and is instrumental in the passing of Congressional apology resolutions for “Chinese Exclusion Act”.
Zhaobang Zeng
Dr. Zhaobang Zeng is a William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor at NCSU and an ASA Fellow, globally recognized for his pioneering work in quantitative genetics. He is the founder of CAFA and RACL, two major cultural and educational cornerstones that have served the NC Chinese community for nearly three decades.
Hongbin Gu
Hongbin Gu, former Town of Chapel Hill councilwoman, is the FIRST elected official of Chinese American in the history of North Carolina. Gu earned her Ph.D. in quantitative psychology and MS in statistics from UNC-CH. She has been serving the Asian community for years. Gu co-founded MOVENC PAC in 2023.
Ya Liu
Ya Liu is a history-making politician currently serving as a North Carolina State Representative for District 21. A law professor with a PhD in sociology, she shattered glass ceilings as the FIRST Asian American woman elected to the Cary Town Council and subsequently became the FIRST Asian American woman in the North Carolina General Assembly. Her legislative platform champions healthcare accessibility, environmental protection, and public education, while her leadership style emphasizes transparency and empowering immigrant communities through direct civic action.
Sue Mu
Sue Mu is a Councilmember for Apex, North Carolina, having been elected in 2025. As a first-generation immigrant, she advocates for smart growth, public safety, and infrastructure. Her platform emphasizes inclusive representation and civic transparency, reflecting a commitment to ensuring all residents have a voice in the town’s rapidly evolving future. Mu co-founded MOVENC PAC in 2023.
Bella Huang
Bella Huang, co-founder of MOVENC and NCAAA, is currenly serving as Cary Town Councilwoman at District C. She also serves on the NC Arts Council and Triangle Chinese Language School boards. Bella combines her entrepreneurial background with a passion for sustainability and transparent leadership to ensure Cary remains a vibrant, inclusive, and welcoming home for all.
